Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that Holding of Multi-National Military Trainings is of Utmost Importance for Ukraine
The program "Aktualne Interviu" ("Topical Interview") by Chornomorska Television and Radio Broadcasting Company asked V.Lytvyn about the consequences that adoption of the Law "On Approval of the Resolution of the President of Ukraine on Admittance of the Foreign Military Sub-Divisions to the Territory of Ukraine for Participation in the Multi-National Military Trainings in 2010" may bear. V.Lytvyn stated that it concerns not only joint trainings with the NATO troops, but also those with the participation of separate countries.
The Head of the Parliament believes that trainings will promote advancement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "There are no other possibilities for realistic trainings", the Chairman stated.
He also reminded of the income due to Ukraine. V.Lytvyn stated that the last year budget envisaged UAH 8 billion for the needs of the Armed Forces, while only UAH 6,7 billion had been allocated. The effective budget envisages UAH 14,5 billion for the needs of the Armed Forces, whish "is insufficient, as the satisfactory upkeep requires UAH 20 billion."
